On the 3rd of August as a part of Media literacy project that is supported by Lithuanian Council for Culture, Larysa Sydorenko, a participant of this scholarship, held a meeting for youth in the American Corner of the Klaipeda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library. The participants were talking about media literacy.
At the beginning of event they had an icebreaker, after that played «True or false» game and everyone had to name 3 facts about themselves and another participants had to guess.
Also visitors took part in Speed English session and discussed the following questions:
- What is the best way for getting news?
- What is your favorite news program?
- Have you ever read (watched) and spread the fake news?
- Why fake news are spread so quickly?
- Do you use digital (electronic) media? Why? Why not?
- What do you think about modern television?
At the end of the event visitors played Kahoot and checked their media literacy knowledge. The winner got a small prize from the library and American Corner.
At the end of the meeting, all participants had a chance to get the answers to the questions they were interested in.

Rugpjūčio 3 d. Larysa Sydorenko, Lietuvos kultūros tarybos stipendininkė ir bibliotekos darbuotoja, surengė susitikimą jaunimui. Amerikos skaitykloje dalyviai kalbėjo apie medijų raštingumą.
Renginio pradžioje dalyviai susipažino, žaidė žaidimą „Tiesa ar melas“. Taip pat lankytojai dalyvavo greito kalbėjimo angliškai sesijoje ir aptarė šiuos klausimus:
– Koks yra geriausias būdas gauti naujienas?
– Koks jų mėgstamiausias naujienų kanalas?
– Ar kada nors yra skaitę (žiūrėję) ir skleidę melagingas naujienas?
– Kodėl taip greitai plinta klaidinančios naujienos?
– Ar naudoja skaitmenines (elektronines) laikmenas? Kodėl? Kodėl ne?
– Ką mano apie šiuolaikinę televiziją?; ir kt.
Renginio pabaigoje lankytojai žaidė „Kahoot“ ir pasitikrino žinias apie medijų raštingumą. Nugalėtojas gavo nedidelį bibliotekos ir Amerikos skaityklos prizą.
Susitikimo pabaigoje visi dalyviai turėjo galimybę gauti atsakymus į jiems rūpimus klausimus.
